There is still time to join our summer Tai Chi class.
Community members are invited to join Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention, an evidence-based program developed by Dr. Paul Lam that is designed to improve balance, flexibility, strength, and overall well-being.
Classes will be held every Thursday from 9:00–10:00 a.m. at the Drees Community Center in Peshtigo.
Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention is recognized worldwide as a safe and effective program for older adults and individuals seeking gentle, low-impact physical activity. The program uses slow, controlled movements that are easy to learn and adaptable for varying fitness levels and physical abilities. Research has shown that regular participation can help reduce the risk of falls, improve balance and mobility, increase muscle strength, decrease stress, and enhance overall quality of life.
Unlike high-impact exercise programs, Tai Chi places minimal stress on the joints, making it especially beneficial for individuals living with arthritis, chronic pain, or concerns about balance and mobility. Participants often report feeling more confident in their daily activities while experiencing improvements in both physical and mental health.
No prior Tai Chi experience is necessary, and participants are encouraged to work at their own pace in a welcoming and supportive environment.
