Silage Sampling Getting Started.  Reminder of Corn Hybrid Plot Field Day.

Silage is not mature enough to consider chopping, but some areas have substantially drought-stressed corn fields so I am adding a couple very early season moisture sampling opportunities.  Where there has been anything close to typical rainfall, corn silage is not likely to be ready until after Sept. 10.  This is the first notice for all the corn silage sampling dates and a corn silage field day – see full information below.
If you have time, the Charapata Seeds sponsored corn hybrid plot and ag product field day is occurring Wed., Aug. 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  I will be there with silage, cover crops, and winter annual cereal forages’ information.  Free to attend, with meal provided.  The event is held under the tents located near N1945 Drees Road, Peshtigo, WI – about 1/2 mile south of Marinette County Highway M, just 2/3 mile west of Hwy. 41.
