Silage Sampling Change For Next Week, Canceled For Oct. 1.

The Extension managed corn silage moisture sampling for the next two Thursdays is being canceled – for a variety of reasons, but most notably that most silage has been chopped or is ready to chop.  However, Scott will be able to collect samples next Monday and Tuesday at the silage hybrid plots located just south of Brown Star Farms (where the corn silage field day was held on Sept. 10).  If you have any type of corn samples you want tested, bring them to the rye field across from 5833 Quarterline Road, Gillett any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on either Monday or Tuesday, Sept. 21 & 22.  He will be there longer than that, most likely, so call/text him at 715-701-0966 if you are ahead or behind that timing.

He will be out in the field harvesting, but coming out to chop samples, so you may need to either wait a bit, or come out into the plot area to find him when you get there.

Again, the sampling events (Crivitz, Lena, Gillett, Bonduel sites) for Thursdays Sept. 24 and Oct. 1 are canceled.
